2016 European Guidelines on CVD prevention in clinical practice

These guidelines represent an evidence-based consensus of the 6th European Joint Task Force involving 10 professional societies. They have been developed to support healthcare professionals communicating with individuals about their cardiovascular (CV) risk, the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, and early modification of their CV risk.

They also provide tools for healthcare professionals to promote population-based strategies and integrate these into national or regional prevention frameworks, and to translate these in locally delivered healthcare services, in line with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) global status report on non-communicable diseases 2010.
