FH Week 2019 - FHSC

About FH Studies Collaboration (FHSC) today

FH continues to be a major global health problem. Worldwide, one in every 200‑500 people has FH — yet FH remains widely under-diagnosed and under-treated. The consequences of FH in the form of premature atherosclerosis and cardiovascular events are potentially preventable, but require effective initiatives and policies to address the current issues and reduce the burden of disease.

FH investigators from all over the world have come together under the EAS FH Studies Collaboration (FHSC) since 2015, and today the FHSC is already making a positive impact in the FH community with 87 contributing clinics, from 69 countries. The registry continues to grow through the combined efforts of the Coordinating Centre and all the participating investigators.

Read the report "Failure to diagnose familial hypercholesterolaemia results in worse outcome" from one of the Late breaking abstract sessions at the EAS 2019 Congress in Maastricht earlier this year, and listen to the video interview with Professor Ray, Scientific lead of the FHSC, discussing the importance of early diagnosis of familial hypercholesterolaemia.

Read more in the reports from the EAS 2019 Congress in Maastricht earlier this year, and listen to experts discussing recent findings and activities aimed at establishing best practices in management and treatment of FH worldwide.
