2017: EAS Advanced Course on Precision Medicine in Atherosclerosis, Paris, France

This 1.5-day course is organised for EAS by Professors Eric Bruckert (Paris, France) and Eran Leitersdorf (Jerusalem, Israel). The Course venue is Hopital Pitié Salpêtrière in Paris, France.

Learning objectives

The objectives of this course are to study the use of novel diagnostics towards improved patient stratification and targeted therapy, and better understand what therapeutic considerations should be taken into account based on patients' genetic background and disease phenotypes.

  • Human Genetics from validation of novel cardiovascular drug targets to molecular diagnosis
  • Do Novel Biomarkers improve cardiovascular risk stratification?
  • Is there a role for Advanced Atherosclerosis Imaging in targeted cardiovascular therapy?
  • Nutrigenomics for prevention and treatment of obesity
  • How is the Pharmaceutical Industry preparing for the new era of Precision Cardiovascular Medicine?
  • Identification of novel targets in Hypertension and priorities for drug development
  • Can we refine strategy on HDL by new pharmacological approaches?
  • Will precision medicine help tailor dyslipidemia treatment?

    Participation fees

    Applicants will be required to pay in advance a registration fee of 100 € (one hundred Euros) to confirm their place on the Course.

    What will be provided?

    EAS will provide the following (included in the registration fee):

    • Accommodation October 05 (1 night)
      N.B. Participants are expected to arrive in the afternoon on Thursday October 05 and to check-out before 12.00 hrs on Friday October 06.
      Additional nights' accommodation are at the participant's own cost.
    • Meals as follows (coffee breaks are included):
      • dinner on October 05
      • lunch on October 06

    Travel arrangements

    Delegates are expected to make their own travel arrangements. Reimbursement for travel expenses up to a maximum amount of 200 € will be provided.

    Application - closed

    The organisers will review all the applications we receive and select the persons to be invited. The selection criteria are based on:

    • the applicants' statement of motivation and CV
    • whether the applicant has attended other EAS Advanced Courses
    • geographical region

    Application deadline was June 30, 2017.

    We will notify applicants on whether their application to attend has been accepted by the end of July, 2017.
