2018 EAS Advanced Course on Hot Topics in Clinical Lipidology & Cardiovascular Prevention Prague, CZ

This 3-day course is organised by EAS and Czech Atherosclerosis Society and is intended for senior PhD students, post docs and MDs.

Learning objectives:

The learning objective of the course is to provide participants with latest knowledge on atherosclerosis risk factors and CVD risk assessment including practical workshops. The objectives include:

  • Intensive interaction between participants and faculty members
  • Hands-on experience on non-invasive atherosclerosis assessment methods during workshop sessions
  • Discussion of controversial and novel issues in the diagnosis and treatment of dyslipidaemia and other risk factors for atherosclerotic vascular disease

The Course will cover

  • Update on novel biomarkers of atherosclerosis and their use in CVD risk assessment
  • Atherosclerosis imaging including its clinical utility
  • Differential diagnosis of dyslipidaemia including identification of rare forms of DLPs
  • Hot topics of management of dyslipidaemia in different patients' groups
  • Demonstration of imaging methods used in subclinical atherosclerosis assessment

The 3-day course will take place from Wednesday February 21 - Friday February 23, 2018.

    Participation fee

    Applicants will be required to pay in advance a registration fee of 100 € (one hundred Euros) to confirm their place on the Course.

    What will be provided?

    EAS will provide the following (included in the registration fee):

    • Accommodation February 21-23 (2 nights). 
      N.B. Participants are expected to arrive in the afternoon on Wednesday February 21 and to check-out before 12.00 hrs on Friday February 23. 
      Additional nights' accommodation are at the participant's own cost.
    • Meals as follows (coffee breaks are included):
      • welcome dinner & get together party on February 21
      • lunch & dinner on February 22
      • lunch on February 23

    Travel arrangements

    Delegates are expected to make their own travel arrangements. Reimbursement for travel expenses up to a maximum amount of 200 will be provided.

    Attending EAS Advanced Courses requires an active individual EAS Membership.

    Application - closed

    The organisers will review all the applications we receive and select the persons to be invited. The selection criteria are based on:

    • the applicants' statement of motivation and CV
    • whether the applicant has attended other EAS Advanced Courses
    • geographical region

    Application deadline was November 17, 2017.

    We will notify applicants on whether their application to attend has been accepted on December 08, 2017.
