Case-based advice for clinicians on the role of lipids and lipoproteins in CVD

Introduction

EAS is pleased to announce the publication of a new Clinician's Handbook, "Dyslipidaemia and Atherosclerosis Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment: A case-oriented approach to understanding the role of lipids and lipoproteins in atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease, and recommendations for diagnosis and treatment". This Handbook is now available for EAS members.

Using the Handbook

This case-based handbook will help clinicians assess their patients' cardiovascular risk, and gives step-by-step advice how to bring patients' lipids to guideline-recommended levels.

Case examples of patients with different backgrounds are discussed, to illustrate how the 2019 ESC/EAS Guidelines for Management of Dyslipidaemias should be applied in real-life settings.

Here, Prof Olov Wiklund, Editor of the Handbook, gives a short introduction to how it may be used.
