The first author of this very original paper is Kenji Honkura and his work was conducted in Tohoku University in Sendai city, The aim of this study was to examine whether defecation frequency is related to CVD mortality. In conclusion, a normal defecation frequency was associated with a lower risk of CVD mortality in this Japanese population.
