Rudolf Zechner, is currently Professor of Biochemistry at the Institute of Molecular Biosciences, University of Graz, Austria. Prof. Zechner completed his degree in Chemistry at the University of Graz and received his PhD in 1980.His research interests include Biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology of lipid and energy metabolism. Professor Zechner is currently project coordinator for several large project grants. He has served as head of the Section of Molecular Biology at the Institute of Medical Biochemistry, at the University of Graz and also as Chairman of their Institute of Biochemistry. Prof. Zechner served as Vice President of the Austrian Atherosclerosis Society and has been an EAS member for over 20 years. His major scientific contributions focused on the discovery and characterization of metabolic lipases. |
