The Cardiovascular GO Annotation Initiative

The Cardiovascular GO Annotation Initiative, based at University College London is providing Gene Ontology (GO) associations to genes involved in cardiovascular systems.  However, with over 4000 genes identified as potentially involved in cardiovascular biology, they are appealing to cardiovascular scientists to participate in reviewing the gene annotations and suggesting how these annotations can be improved.

Since the project started in November 2007 the following genes, and many others, have been comprehensively annotated using GO terms:
ABCA1, ABCG1, ANGPTL3, APOA1, CDH13, CDK6, CDKN2A, CDKN2AIP, CELSR2, CETP, CIDEA, CLPTM1, FMN2, GAA, GPX1, MIA3, MTHFD1L, MYBPC3, MYL1, MYLK2, PCSK2, PSRC1, SELS, SMAD3

To view these annotations please visit http://wiki.geneontology.org/index.php/Cardiovascular

To suggest annotations, genes to annotate or papers to be used for annotation please email:goannotation@ucl.ac.uk
