Journal highlights - November issue

Editor-in-Chief Arnold von Eckardstein regularly highlights interesting articles from recent issues of Atherosclerosis journal. The theme for the highlighted articles from the November issue, Volume 254 is Anthropometric, biographic, and socioeconomic risk factors of cardiovascular diseases.

The articles indicate that in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, pharmacologically modifiable risk factors play a central role both for risk assessment and treatment. The importance of anthropometric, biographic, socioeconomic, and environmental factors is generally acknowledged, but less intensively addressed by research. They are the topic of several studies and one review in the current issue of Atherosclerosis...

Young Investigator Awards for outstanding publications - open for nominations from December 01

These annual EAS prizes for young scientists are intended to recognize distinction shown by publications that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of atherosclerosis and linked metabolic disturbances.

Each recipient will receive a prize of € 2000 and will be invited to make a short presentation of their work at the annual EAS Congress. The winners of the Awards for outstanding publications 2016 will be invited to present at EAS 2017 Prague.
