Advanced Course on AIL -

Crossroads of Atherosclerosis - Immunology - Lipids

The next EAS Advanced Course will be on March 22 - 25, 2016, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. This 3-day course is organised by EAS and Research Consortium GENIUS and the programme includes speakers John Kastelein, the Netherlands, Coleen
Mc Namara, USA, Jan Nilsson, Sweden, and others. Topics featured in the programme are:

  • Immunology
  • Innovative research technology
  • Lipidology
  • Systems biology

Recent Journal Highlights

The December issue of Atherosclerosis includes an article by Narverud et al. investigating the impact of maternal familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) on pre-treatment plasma lipids and C-reactive protein (CRP) in children with FH, and also a commentary on this article by Schofield & Bhatnagar. Reports on the effects of a sedentary lifestyle in this issue include articles by García-Hermoso et al., Horta et al., and an invited commentary by Arno Schmidt-Trucksäss.
