The EAS Advanced Course in Clinical Excellence in Cardiovascular Prevention and Lipidology has received accrediation by the European Board for Accreditation in Cardiology (EBAC) for 12 hours of External CME credits.

Each participant should claim only those hours of credit that have actually been spent in the educational activity. EBAC works according to the quality standards of the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), which is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).

EAS Advanced Course III:

Clinical Excellence in Cardiovascular Prevention and Lipidology

Introduction

EAS is pleased to announce our third Advanced Course. We welcome applications via the EAS website until December 30th, 2011.

Who should apply?

The Course is suitable for clinicians in all specialties dealing with patients with dyslipidemia or cardiovascular disease, such as cardiology, internal medicine, diabetology, and endocrinology, as well as general practitioners. Additionally, researchers in the field of cardiovascular disease or epidemiology are welcome to apply. (For further details of the Course content, see the Programme).

Applicants should be EAS members (not a member? Click HERE to apply for EAS membership and so become eligible to attend the Course) and must have paid the Society's membership fee for 2011.

Course date Thursday 9 February- Friday 10 February, 2012

Delegates should arrive before 20.00 on Wednesday 8 February and depart Friday 10 February, following the close of the course at 16.00.

  • their up-to-date CV
  • a "Statement of motivation" (500 words max) explaining why they wish to attend the Course, and how they will apply the knowledge gained from it.

Applicant selection The organizers will evaluate the applications and select as attendees those they judge:

  • have the required competences to participate fully in the Course (based on their CV), and
  • will gain the greatest benefit from the knowledge and skills learned on the Course in their research/studies/employment (based on their "Statement of Motivation").
