Profile of ideal EAS President

  • The candidate must be a committed member of EAS and should have regularly attended EAS meetings over the last ten years
  • The  candidate  must have served on the EAS Executive Committee and/or must have been involved with EAS activities and have a good understanding of EAS structure and function
  • He/She should be internationally well-known and actively involved in research in atherosclerosis
  • He/She should have an excellent scientific record and an outstanding profile and expertise in his/her field
  • He/She should have good connections and working relations with pharmaceutical companies at international level
  • He/She should have ‘charisma’ to attract people, resources and political attention
  • He/She should have a high degree of energy and enthusiasm
  • He/She must be willing and able to give his/her time to the Society
The EAS aims for a balance of gender, expertise and geographical areas throughout Europe when considering candidates for Officers and Executive Committee members.
