In the field of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease, the EAS works to:
- Organize Congresses, Educational Workshops and Symposia
- Support young researchers and clinicians with Travel Grants and Awards
- Collaborate with other investigators;
- related organizations, notably IAS and ESC
- the National Atherosclerosis Societies of Europe
- Bring together relevant expert opinions and cutting edge research findings
- Develop jointly the European Guidelines on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention in Clinical Practice, in collaboration with ESC and ESH
- Organize Working Groups and Task Forces to evaluate ongoing needs in priority areas for EAS, e.g., nutrition, plaque imaging, prevention of CVD, evolving technologies…
- Formulate strategies to respond to these needs on a pan-European basis
